Introduction
The Legal Services Unit provide legal expertise and services to the Ministry.
Functions
- Provisions of legal advice services to the Ministry’s departments, Units, Basin Water Offices and Water Authorities.
- Preparation of Water Legislation Bills and subsidiary legislation (Regulations, Rules, orders etc) in accordance with the existing water Legislation.
- Prosecuting and make follow – up of Court cases.
- Dissemination of legal information to stakeholders through workshop, seminars and conferences.
- Attending meeting for preparation of International Agreement relating to Trans – boundary water resources.
- To liase with the Attorney General Chambers for all activities which require his direct intervention.
