Legal Services Unit

Introduction

The Legal Services Unit  provide legal expertise and services to the Ministry.

Functions

• Provisions of legal advice services to the Ministry’s departments, Units, Basin Water Offices and Water Authorities.

• Preparation of Water Legislation Bills and subsidiary legislation (Regulations, Rules, orders etc) in accordance with the existing water Legislation.

• Prosecuting and make follow – up of Court cases.

• Dissemination of legal information to stakeholders through workshop, seminars and conferences.

• Attending meeting for preparation of International Agreement relating to Trans – boundary water resources.

• To liase with the Attorney General Chambers for all activities which require his direct intervention.
