The Minister of Water and Irrigation, Prof. Mark J. Mwandosya held a press conference on 17th May 2010 at the Ministry’s Head Office where he clarified the signing of Nile Basin Co-operative Framework on the equitable sharing of River Nile water. He said on 15th May 2010 four Nile basin states signed the Framework at Entebe in Uganda. The countries include Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda and Ethiopia. Eritrea also attended the event as an observer. Prof. Mwandosya revealed that the governments of Kenya, Congo and Burundi looks forward to sign the agreement which is open for signing until 2011.
