The Ministry of Water and Irrigation will observe the 22nd Maji Week Event from 16th to 22nd March 2010 in all regions in the country.
The main objective of Maji Week is to create awareness and sensitize the public on Water Sector plans and reforms and the importance of their participation in environmental sanitation and water supply programs, evaluate the achievements, identify problems and draw up strategies for implementation.
This event will also allow stakeholders within the sector, inside and outside Tanzania to exchange their experiences on the development and management of water and sanitation through exhibitions which will be staged from 16th to 22nd March, 2010 in Coast Region.
The theme of this year’s Maji Week is Clean Water for a Healthy World with activities aiming to communicate messages on Water Quality, Ecosystems and Human Well-Being. This is also the theme for the International Water Day 2010. For this matter, we hope you will prepare your exhibition activities to address this theme.
In order to make this year’s Maji Week successful your organization is kindly invited to participate in the said exhibitions from 16th to 22nd March, 2010 to be staged in Kibaha District Council. It will be a good opportunity for you to exhibit your activities, products and technology during the week where various people of different disciplines will participate.
The exhibitions will be grouped in three categories as follows:-
• Public Services
• Suppliers
• Public mobilization, awareness, creation and training
The best three pavilions (exhibitors) to be selected by specific judges from each group will be awarded with Trophies on the climax day i.e. 22/03/2010. Further more each participating exhibitor will receive a Maji Week Certificate.
